Sex-Ed Curriculum Insanity in Public Schools

The school board in Fairfax County, Virginia is considering changes to the current Family Life Education (FLE) curriculum. An advisory committee filled with members who the Board selected, voted *unanimously* for recommendations including:

  1. Co-ed FLE lessons in 4th-8th grade (to make transgender students more comfortable).
  2. Substituting the words “boy” and “girl” with “students assigned male/female”.

Obviously, neither the school board members (all endorsed by the Democratic Party in 2019) nor the advisory committee are diverse in thought.

Today is the last day to fill out the community survey regarding these changes. If you are interested and/or affiliated with the Fairfax County community, please take a few minutes to submit your thoughts on these changes. We need to lift our voices to disrupt the echo chamber in which our school board isolates itself. If you are outside of Fairfax County, are you also experiencing this issue in your district? What are people in your community doing to keep politics and the transgender-push out of schools?

If you are willing to complete the survey today and need inspiration for your answers, please see below:

What is your level of support for gender combined FLE lessons in grade 4-8? Do not support.

Please provide any information related to question 1 that you would like to share for consideration. Most children will not be comfortable to ask difficult questions or learn sensitive information in a combined-sex classroom.

Do you have any comments related to the other recommendations included in the FLECAC report? All FLE should be opt-in rather than opt out. Many parents do not read emails pertaining to curriculum and opt-out forms.

Do you see any unintended consequences that would result from any of the recommended changes?  In the effort to be “inclusive”, the proposed changes to FLE are encouraging transgender identity experimentation among children. There is a social contagion element to gender ideology – which is very apparent in middle schools across the county.

What do you see as the benefits of the recommended changes? None.

Are there other comments you would like to provide? I would like to re-emphasize, all FLE should be opt-in rather than opt out.
