Independent Women’s Network Launches New London County, CT Chapter

GROTON, CT — Independent Women’s Network (IWN), the national grassroots community activist arm of Independent Women’s Voice, celebrates the launch of its New London County, Connecticut Chapter. This chapter joins 23 chapters around the country and an online community of more than 20,000 members.

The Chapter Leader is Mary Bell. Bell has served as a community activist most of her life. While working in healthcare and social services, the experiences of vulnerable populations opened Bell’s eyes to the hypocrisy of the left and the fact that women are often subjugated to unjust practices.

Bell said, “I object to the erasure of women, who are the givers of life. Our personal spaces are being violated, personal spaces women have worked hard to obtain. I feel we have gone too far down the rabbit hole, in this country, and something must be done to stop the tyranny of the left.”

For this chapter launch, the special guest speaker was Amie Ichikawa, Founder of WomanIIWoman.org, who is advocating for the protection of single-sex prisons and for the safety of incarcerated women. She said in a statement, “As the Executive Director of Woman II Woman, and as an active duty woman in the fight against our colonization I am honored to be included in the launch of the New London County chapter. There is so much encouragement that I can share with my community through the inclusion and partnership with IWF.”

IWN was created to build a supportive community for women and to give them the tools they need to make a positive difference in their neighborhoods and our country.

“We heard from thousands of women from across the country who said they wanted a community where they could connect, share ideas, and take action,” said IWN’s Carrie Lukas. “We launched the Independent Women’s Network to stand shoulder to shoulder with women who are ready to turn our economy around and fight to save our freedoms by countering the woke mob and standing up to cancel culture and out-of-touch bureaucrats.”

An engaging and growing community of independently-minded women work together to advance shared principles through chapter gatherings and the IWN online movement. Membership to IWN opens access to message boards, curated news, smart content, a resource center, exclusive events, and an action center.

“IWN members are happy warriors who stand up to bullies – bullies with positions in school boards; bullies on social media; bullies in corporations and in politics,” said IWN Director Julie Gunlock. “We support one another, and our members are not alone when they stand up to lead on issues critical to our country.”

Members of the community who are interested in joining Independent Women’s Network should email IWN Membership Director Jenny Avis (jenny.avis@iwnetwork.com) or visit iwnetwork.com for more information.

IWN North Dakota Chapter Praises Senator Cramer for Cosponsoring IWV’s Women’s Bill of Rights

NORTH DAKOTA – Independent Women’s Network (IWN) praises U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) for cosponsoring Independent Women’s Voice’s Women’s Bill of Rights (WBOR), which if passed, would protect biological sex as a distinct legal category. This Congress, the Women’s Bill of Rights has been introduced in both the U.S. House (H.Res. 115) and U.S. Senate (S.Res. 53).

Hailing from North Dakota, Senator Cramer gave his stamp of approval for the legal definition of the word, “woman”, and other sex-based terms that are vital in protecting single-sex spaces and activities. If signed into law, the Women’s Bill of Rights will act as legal protection of women-only spaces, such as rape and crisis centers, sororities, sports teams, and changing areas.

“I am grateful to Senator Cramer for supporting the Women’s Bill of Rights. Every woman in North Dakota should be glad that our senator knows what a woman is and is willing to stand up for truth, commonsense and women,” said Margo Knorr, IWN Chapter Leader, North Dakota.

Independent Women’s Voice applauds Senator Cramer’s support for the Women’s Bill of Rights and looks ahead to additional supporters in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House.

WBOR BACKGROUND:

In March 2022, Independent Women’s Voice, Independent Women’s Law Center (IWLC), and Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) collaborated to draft model legislation known as the Women’s Bill of Rights. The U.S. Chapter of Women’s Declaration International (WDI, USA) also endorses WBOR.

The Women’s Bill of Rights has gained vast support among the public, various organizations and groups across the political spectrum. Nebraska, most recently, became the fourth state to establish a Women’s Bill of Rights, following a recent executive order by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and legislation adopted in Kansas and Tennessee. A wave of sixteen attorneys general announced their support for the Women’s Bill of Rights this year.

In Congress, WBOR was first introduced by Congresswoman Lesko (AZ-08) and Senator Hyde-Smith (R-MS) in the 117th Congress, and again in the 118th Congress.

Round Rock, TX Chapter Leader Describes Being Attacked, Spat On By Far-Left Protestors At Save Women’s Sports Act Ceremony

IWN Chapter Leader Michelle Evans Leader Joins Fox & Friends To Share Her Experiences

Independent Women’s Network Round Rock Chapter Leader, Michelle Evans, joined Independent Women’s Voice spokeswomen and advisors, Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan, in attending Governor Greg Abbott’s ceremonial signing of the “Save Women’s Sports Act,” a significant moment for the fight to protect the integrity of women’s sports.

Hundreds of protestors surrounded the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame at Texas Woman’s University, where the event took place. Michelle Evans joined Fox & Friends the next morning to discuss her experience being attacked and spat on as she exited the building.

“As I was walking down the pathway to see how far the protestors went, I filmed as they yelled at me, screamed profanities at me, and then as I was walking to re-enter the building, they stood in my way, pushed me, hit me, threw water on me, and then one protestor spit into my left eye,” Michelle Evans told Fox News.

Evans continued, “I think [saying ‘Greg Abbott hates women’ is] such a baseless claim. He was celebrating women and women’s achievements, fairness in sports, and privacy in our spaces. There is a reason that we have sex-based protections. We are equal but we are not the same. They claim that we are trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist yet they get so fervent in their arguments and are screaming to ‘let them play.’ You can’t have it both ways. Trans kids and trans athletes are allowed to play. It’s just they have to play on the team that’s designated for their sex. It’s about fairness, it’s about privacy, it’s about dignity.”

Inspiring others to join her in this fight to save women’s sports, Evans said on Fox & Friends to host Ainsley Earhardt: “It’s always worth it to fight these battles. You have to go deep in the trenches if you’re going to get anywhere in this war, and I’m ready for it.”
