7 Things Everyday Americans Can Do To Fight Jew Hatred In 5 Minutes Or Less

Israel is under siege, and brave Israeli soldiers are working to defeat evil. For those of us living in Europe and the United States, the rank outpouring of antisemitism, from universities to mainstream media, can feel defeating.

Here are seven simple things we can do to fight antisemitism and hold antisemites accountable.

1.) Follow and share content from @StopAntisemites on Twitter and Instagram. They identify and expose antisemites—especially those in positions of power, including professors, doctors, and dentists.

2.) Forward one article to one friend. Israel is fighting a real, bloody war halfway across the world. In Europe and the United States, we are fighting a war of lies and hate. We each have one friend who might be influenced by the truth. A great source of information is the Jewish News Syndicate.

3.) Cancel your donation to your university or alma mater if they issued a statement that sympathizes with Hamas. Big donors have stopped giving to schools like the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard. We aren’t all billionaires, but voting with our dollars makes a difference.

4.) Consider giving to Magen David Adom. They serve as the Israeli Red Cross organization.

5.) Elevate the voices of leading experts in Middle East Studies, Judaism, and antisemitism. These people have spent years sounding the alarm; now is the time to help them. Start with Brooke GoldsteinDumisani Washington, or IWF Senior Fellow Qanta Ahmed

Please don’t grab the nearest random Jew and put them on TV or radio as a token. There is no shortage of real experts.

6.) Pray. People will sneer, “Oh thoughts and prayers”, but it helps. Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, a leader in Jewish theology and the civil rights movement said, “Prayer may not bring water to parched fields, nor mend a broken bridge, nor rebuild a ruined city. But prayer can water an arid soul, mend a broken heart, rebuild a weakened will.”

7.) Buy a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I’m not kidding. Starbucks Corporation is working with the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce to identify union-owned stores and take legal action against those who voiced support for Hamas.
