Hi everyone, as the NH state representative for Independent women's network I feel that it is important to educate the community on issues that maybe they don't realize are important to look at and discuss. IWN is a bi partisan organization. We welcome all ages and political backgrounds to engage in this material. Education on our history is most vital right now. Please see below for the offerings I'm presenting this Fall. Sept and Oct. I plan to show other films in Nov and Dec. I'm always open to suggestions. I do have ideas planned for the Nov and Dec dates.

Real History: Watergate — An Evening of History, Film & Conversation
Free Community Film Event — Friday, September 18 | Delegation Hall, Keene, NH
KEENE, NH — The New Hampshire State Chapter of the Independent Women’s Network (IWN) invites the Monadnock community to an evening of film, history, refreshments, and conversation on Friday, September 18, at Delegation Hall in Keene, New Hampshire. Presented by Independent Women’s Network – New Hampshire, the evening is the first in a series of films being presented this fall with the goal of inspiring, educating, and encouraging people to explore history from different perspectives. Most importantly, these evenings are intended to bring people together—not simply to watch a film, but to sit down afterward, talk to one another, ask questions, and engage in respectful discourse—even when we don't all agree.
The Evening’s Film
Real History: Watergate, takes another look at one of the most consequential political scandals in American history. Watergate has traditionally been presented as the scandal that led to President Richard Nixon’s resignation and ushered in a new era of American politics. This film examines declassified documents, testimony, political intrigue, sabotage, and competing interpretations of what actually happened behind the Watergate scandal. 46 minutes total running time.
More Than a Movie Night
“My goal in putting together this series is not to tell people what they have to think,” said the New Hampshire State Chapter Leader of Independent Women’s Network. “I want to create an opportunity for people in our community to learn, think, question, and—perhaps most importantly—talk to one another. We don't have to agree in order to have a meaningful conversation.”
The evening will include refreshments, and attendees are encouraged to stay for a discussion following the films. The discussion is an important part of the event and is designed to encourage thoughtful conversation about the history presented, the questions it raises, and how we interpret our nation's past and present.
Whether you consider yourself a history buff, enjoy political documentaries, are curious about perspectives you may not have encountered before, or simply want to spend an evening meeting people in the community, all are welcome.
