Not sure I am going to "counter-protest" on my own (I am actually taking a new job inside FCPS) but tomorrow there is a pro-trans rally of the public school employees in Fairfax.
If you know any local groups that might want to counter-protest.

Friends,
We are protesting Youngin's VDOE "Don't Be Trans" model policy
Tuesday, August 15: Rally at 6:30, March at 7:30
Rally at 6:30 at the School Board meeting location
Luther Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042
March around 7:30 along the west side of Gallows Rd., north to Rte. 29 and the Mosaic District
(in sight of the WMAL radio broadcast tower--WMAL is the "Rush Limbaugh station," with a constant stream of voices inimical towards Trans students and all LGBTQIA+ people. Elizabeth Schultz, Glenn Youngkin, Saundra Davis and Asra Nomani are frequent flyers on the WMAL station)
There is NOT a school board meeting this night--that will be on August 31, with sign-ups to speak from Aug 25 to Aug 29 at 7 p.m.
We are protesting the so-called "model policy" which is in fact an effort to identify, erase and exclude transgender and gender-expansive people from schools in Virginia. You can bet that this is only the beginning. It masquerades as "parents rights," but ignores the right of all parents and caregivers to have public schools in which every child is welcomed, safe and not bullied. What student can feel secure in schools in which bullying of one group is allowed and indeed encouraged? Yep.
We are also demanding that local elected and appointed officials (Board of Supervisors, School Boards, Chair and Mayor, and the superintendents of the City and County) take strong, SPECIFIC, clear stances that this exclusion, erasure and sponsored bullying will NOT happen in our schools in Fairfax.
Many of those officials have or are planning on doing so!! Some may speak at the rally. We'll be reporting to the crowd on what we have heard or have seen from those twenty-six leaders.
The March protests the "captive media" blitz pushing the false narratives that folks here don't like Queer people, and that Trans children are dangerous (that rises to the level of hate speech).
Wear purple or Pride gear (rainbow or the light blue/pink/white that are th trans colors. Make signs (remembering that this is a family-friendly event--no f-bombs, threats or grossness, please). We are alert to possible dangers, but note that it is public and anyone can be photographed by media or unfriendly filmers. Wear masks and PPE as you wish.
Speakers will include the members of employee groups and civil rights organizations, delegates, board members, executives of the partnering organizations and others.
At this moment, partners in the rally and protest are:
FCPS Pride, Fairfax County Federation of Teachers (AFT), Fairfax Education Association (NEA), Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia, Transgender Education Association of Northern Virginia, Asian Educators Association of Fairfax, Hispanic Educators Association of Fairfax, GLSEN Northern Virginia, Hamkae Center, Jewish Community Relations Council of Northern Virginia, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax and growing.
