This month is Women's History Month. Various groups, media or others promote it in one way or another. The elementary school that I am involved with in a caual way finally, in the second week of March, devoted a bulletin board to the promotion with women from different nationalities, races and times featured. Some of the achievements some women were rather meager (first or youngest 0f her ethnic group). WHat I found troubling and sorely missing were women of any time or place or nationality that achieved and added to society. For instance, Jane Goodall was included, She did much to the study, interest and concern for gorillas and the ecosystems of Africa, Alexander Ocasio-Cortez, not so much. Sorely missing was the name of the woman who prevented a national medical tragedy. Frances Kelsey, a FDA scientist in the 1960's refused to approve the drug thalidomide, preventing thousands of birth defects.

If your school or organization is promoting Women's History Month, please incude this Canadian born, American scientist. If anyone can do a 10 by 12 " picture of her with a statement of her accomplisment, that would be much appreciated

These bulletin board presentations are not usually done in-house, but presented and sold to schools for their various hallway bulletin boards. There is so much of it in my school that not much is viewed by the students.  The presentation is 5 years old and includes Kamala Harris, simone Biles, who said  unkind words about Riley Gaines, Mrs Obama, among others.
