In Loudon County, Virginia, the school district plans to spend $11 million on new, single-stall bathrooms in effort to “protect” transgender kids from using the bathroom of their biological sex.
If these plans move forward and are imported in every school in the district, it could cost more than $211 million. Cost isn’t the only problem here.
IWN Loudon County Chapter Leader Suzanne Satterfield spoke at a recent school board meeting, expressing her concerns the safety of students in the event of an emergency.
She speaks below about a child being left behind in the event of a fire, if they passed out or were unable to make someone aware they needed help.
Satterfield finished her remarks by adding, “For all the students that don’t feel comfortable with sharing the restroom with the opposite sex, I see you. You are loved.”
We’re grateful to the many IWN women out there speaking up for the rights of women and girls and the safety of children.
