IWN NYC Chapter Hosts Discussion on Current Domestic and International Security Issues with Dr. Meaghan Mobbs

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the New York City Chapter of Independent Women’s Network had the privilege of hosting Dr. Meaghan Mobbs, director of the Center for American Safety and Security at Independent Women’s Forum, for an engaging and insightful discussion on pressing domestic and international security matters. The event aimed to shed light on the flaws in the Biden administration’s foreign policy and national security decision-making, as well as the urgent need for women’s voices to be heard in shaping policies that promote safety, security, and thriving communities.

Dr. Mobbs, a renowned expert in the field, led the conversation, emphasizing the detrimental consequences of the current administration’s inability to secure the border and its impact on global stability. She stated, “The Biden administration’s flawed foreign policy and national security decision-making, to include his inability to secure our borders, has led to a world on fire. Rather than watch it rage on, these women are fighting back against the conflagration. With Aundrea leading the charge, these women had tough conversations and discussed compassionate solutions, including best ways to engage with other women and bring them into the fold. Informed women make informed decisions—and more ladies need to know the dangerous path we are on.”

Aundrea Amine, Chapter Leader of IWN’s NYC Chapter, expressed her gratitude for Dr. Mobbs’ presence and insights, highlighting the importance of holding elected officials accountable for their policies. She said, “We were honored to have Dr. Meaghan Mobbs share her intelligence and insights with us for a frank discussion on national and international security. Elected officials need to be held accountable, and this administration’s bad policies, the deleterious effects of which a clear conscience makes hard to ignore, need to be called out for what they are. We believe women are critically important to fostering the discussions necessary to inspire calls for policies promoting safety, security, and thriving communities for all. Too much is at stake to stay silent.”

The IWN NYC Chapter is committed to providing a platform for informed discussions on crucial issues affecting our society. By hosting events like this, Independent Women’s Network aims to empower women to actively participate in shaping policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals.
