Children have sacrificed too much during this pandemic. Mask laws are being lifted for adults throughout the states, while they remain in place for children in schools. Children are less at risk from COVID than are adults and more at risk for emotional and mental health harms from long term masking. It’s time to allow children to breathe and smile. It’s time to make masking optional for children in schools.
