On Thursday, February 27, 2025 Independent Women’s Network National Chapter Director and Phoenix, AZ Chapter Chair testified to the Peoria Unified School District in Peoria, AZ.
In her testimony Christy encouraged the Board to consider an amendment to its proposed Policy for Women’s Privacy that would base the definitions of ‘female,’ ‘male,’ and ‘sex’ solely on reproductive potential, not sex at birth or chromosomes, to more clearly define sex-based terms. The amendment would also ensure people with medical differences in sexual development (sometimes referred to as disorders of sex development, DSD conditions, or intersex conditions) are included in the definitions.
“This simply safeguards women’s existing right to have single-sex spaces to ensure privacy and safety. Efforts to legally eradicate the difference between the sexes fundamentally erases women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being. Men and women are different and as such have a legal right to single-sex spaces,” said Christy.
